Ans. Inform the factory management politely and request noise-control measures. If it continues, report to local authorities. Use ear protection if needed.

(a) What is meant by vibration?
Ans. Vibration is the rapid back-and-forth movement of an object. Sound is produced when an object vibrates.
(b) Explain with practical examples how sound is propagated through solids.
Ans. Sound travels through solids when vibrations pass from one particle to another. For example, when you place your ear on a table, you can clearly hear someone tapping on the other end. Railway tracks also carry the sound of an approaching train.
(c) What is meant by noise pollution?
Ans. The continuous or very loud unpleasant sound that harms people and disturbs normal activities is called noise pollution.
(d) What measures will you take to control noise pollution?
- Avoid unnecessary honking.
- Keep volume of TV and music low.
- Repair noisy vehicles and machines.
- Follow ‘No Horn’ rules near hospitals and schools.
- Support rules that control loudspeakers and industrial noise.
